When you’re working your business, it’s not a bad idea to make sure you are working your brain as well. According to businessinsider.com, "Most successful people credit reading, in some capacity, as a factor in their success". I have a personal favorite way to read. I listen to audiobooks.
I've put together a list of must-read (listen) books for the summer. The topics covered range from learning where creativity comes from to the innerworkings of a permanently manned moon base. Are you too busy to read? When the world’s most successful people make time to read every day, maybe you should.
My short summer reading list:
The Creative Curve, How to Develop the Right Idea, at the Right Time
By: Allen Gannett
This book has exciting research coupled with relevant examples. A book with this combination always makes for a good learning experience.
The Excellence Dividend
By: Tom Peters
I've been a fan of Tom Peters for a long time, and this book shows he still has excellent advice now coupled about half a century of experience. Tom shares valuable business experiences, some dating back to his day in the military all the way through 2018.
Building a StoryBrand, Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen
By: Donald Miller
I can't praise this book enough. If you are involved in making your marketing better I consider this a must-read. Not only is Building a StoryBrand clear common sense but Donald Miller keeps it exciting and entertaining.
By: Andy Weir
I'm dropping a bit of science fiction on the list but not without purpose. Andy Weir also wrote The Martian and uses know science fact to tell a story and predict our near future. Artemis is fun fiction, but it's also a mini-course on Moon science.
