Creative Project: Enthusiasm for Kansas City

Photography
January 10, 2018

I was recently commissioned to create a unique photograph for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. The desire for the finished image was to represent Mayor Sly James' enthusiasm for Kansas City, Missouri. Is there anyone who wouldn’t love #kansascity after @MayorSlyJames gets done singing its praises?" says Chamber president and CEO Joe Reardon  (@JReardonKC).

I was delighted to play a role in the project and appreciate the opportunity the Chamber offered. The Chamber provided a charming model and some direction for the final results. I moved into action determining the best location and time of day. It ended up being a bit chilly and windy during the shoot, but with our enthusiastic model and a bit of Photoshop work, the image resulted in precisely what the Chamber wanted.   I love doing environmental portraits like this because ultimately the resulting image has an artistic as well as authentic quality to it.
